At 3am on May 5, 1945, most were sleeping in the towns and villages southwest of Plzn, like Domazlice. But their beds started shaking. By 4am the whole region was shaking and people were coming out to see a spectacle: General Patton's US 3rd army was rolling by. By 8am they were still rolling by. The war was ending and the US army was on its way to Plzn because that's where the beer was!

    Now every year the memorabilia collectors put on their US army uniforms, personnel carriers, cannons, and more, and Patton rolls through Plzn again. We will enjoy the spectacle and much more in PLZN.
